G7 Foreign and Development Ministers' Meeting, May 2021: chair’s statement on guest participation

The UK welcomed Australia, India, the Republic of Korea, South Africa and the Chair of ASEAN as guests the final day (5 May 2021) of the G7 Foreign and Development Ministers' Meeting.

The Foreign Secretary welcomed Foreign Ministers from Australia, India, the Republic of Korea and South Africa as well as the Chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to join G7 discussions on open societies and sustainable recovery. The agenda covered topics such as: climate change, famine prevention, gender equality and promoting access to COVID-19 vaccines.

Australia, India, the Republic of Korea and South Africa will also join the G7 Summit in June, when the Prime Minister will welcome leaders of the world’s biggest democracies to Carbis Bay, Cornwall.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab hosts the G7 Foreign and Development Ministers' Meeting in London, 3 to 5 May 2021.
