Details
The Office for Health Improvement and Disparities commissioned researchers at the University of Sheffield and the University of Glasgow to produce estimates of the number of adults who gamble in England who might benefit from treatment or support.
The spreadsheet contains estimates on the number of adults who gamble who might benefit from treatment or support for gambling in each local authority in England, alongside the intensity of treatment or support that they might need. The data has been produced using the Health Survey for England for 2015, 2016 and 2018.
This page also includes a summary of the main findings from the analysis and an overview of methods used to produce the estimates.
Health commissioners can use this resource to:
- estimate the number of adults who gamble who might benefit from treatment or support in their area
- estimate the number of children who are living in the same household as an adult who gambles who might need treatment or support for their gambling
- plan and improve services
