About these documents

These documents set out the General Qualifications Alternative Awarding (GQAA) Conditions, plus related requirements and guidance. These rules and guidance were in force for part of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The GQAA Conditions came into effect at 13:00 on 24 March 2021 for GQ Qualifications as defined in Condition GQAA1.7:

  • advanced extension award qualifications
  • project qualifications (at all levels)
  • GCE (AS or A level) qualifications
  • GCSE qualifications

We published supporting guidance related to appeals in June 2021.
