Details
To get a copy of a child abuse assessment or child protection plan, you should:
- fill in the sample letter as best you can
- send it to the social services department at your local council
The assessment or plan must mention your child’s name and name your partner as the abuser.
You can use this as evidence if you’re applying for legal aid to stop an abusive partner seeing your child or to take away their parental responsibility.
If you work for a social services department and have been asked to provide this evidence for a legal aid application, please use the sample letter below as a template to confirm whether:
- a child abuse assessment has taken place
- a child protection plan is in place
