Council Regulation (EC) No 1/2005 on the protection of animals during transport and related operations and The Welfare of Animals (Transport) (England) Order 2006.

Council Regulation (EC) No 1/2005 on the protection of animals during transport and related operations requires that any road vehicle undertaking long journeys (normally in excess of eight hours) transporting cattle, sheep, pigs, goats or unregistered domestic equidae must be equipped with a satellite ‘navigation’ system.
