Details
This study explores the experiences of and attitudes towards HIV prevention in relation to access and uptake of HIV prevention interventions such as condoms, HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and HIV testing. It includes findings from qualitative interviews conducted between March 2021 and July 2022 with 26 people newly diagnosed with HIV and 9 who were diagnosed late and living in England.
The findings will inform the new HIV Action Plan for 2025 to 2030, in particular, strengthening HIV prevention interventions aimed at reducing transmissions and late diagnoses, and accelerating progress toward the government’s ambitions to end HIV transmission in England.
