HM Treasury review of the Office for Budget Responsibility

Details

The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) was established in 2010 to provide independent and authoritative analysis of the UK’s public finances.

In June 2015, the Chancellor to the Exchequer asked Sir Dave Ramsden, Chief Economic Adviser to HM Treasury, to complete a review of the OBR. This review builds on the analysis and conclusions of the external review published in September 2014, focusing on the existing regime and framework of the OBR and its role in enhancing UK fiscal credibility.
