Details
£315.8 million will be made available to local authorities in 2022 to 2023 through the Homelessness Prevention Grant, to support them to deliver services to prevent and tackle homelessness.
This maintains the significant investment of £310 million provided through the Homelessness Prevention Grant in 2021 to 2022. It includes an additional £5.8 million to cover the cost of new burdens associated with the expansion of priority need to those forced into homelessness by domestic abuse, following the landmark Domestic Abuse Act 2021.
In December 2022, we announced a £50 million top-up to the Homelessness Prevention Grant that will be made available to local authorities in 2022-23. This additional funding will support local authorities to help prevent vulnerable households from becoming homeless and to manage local homelessness pressures.
