Details

This initial report sets out three key areas the taskforce will explore in forming its recommendations:

  • connecting markets, businesses and people
  • unlocking regeneration and development
  • delivering HS2 through our industries and workforce

The independent HS2 Growth Taskforce was created in summer 2013 to help government and local areas deliver maximum value from every pound invested in HS2. The taskforce will make its recommendations to government in its final report in early 2014.

The taskforce will draw on its own membership – which spans public and private sectors, and academia – and key local partners to formulate practical, affordable and deliverable recommendations. A valuable source of evidence will be lessons from infrastructure projects in the UK and around the world, such as the Olympics and Crossrail.
