HS2 rolling stock: scope and requirements presentation

Details

This page provides information relating to the High Speed Two (HS2) rolling stock procurement. HS2 Ltd wants to enable businesses to plan and prepare to compete for contracts. We want ambitious, innovative and creative suppliers of all sizes and types to get involved, throughout the supply chain.

In March 2017, HS2 Ltd held an industry event to set out our aspiration for the rolling stock and suppliers’ role in achieving this. In particular, alerting the market to our customer experience vision, delivery programme, technical requirements and procurement approach.

You can view videos from the Rolling Stock Industry Day on the HS2 YouTube channel.

In April 2017, HS2 Ltd commenced the formal procurement process and in July 2018 issued the Invitation to Tender (ITT). As part of our commitment to transparency, and following feedback from the supply chain, we have released our Train Technical Specification (TTS) to ensure visibility for interested supply chain organisations. While this document is targeted at tier 1 rolling stock suppliers, its content should enable interested supply chain organisations to identify potential opportunities for the supply of equipment and services to those tier 1 suppliers. Please note this document supersedes the previously published Pre-Qualification Technical Summary (PQTS).

We have also published contact details for each of our bidders, so that interested supply chain organisations can get in touch directly; please see our current contract opportunities table.
