Details
The review proposes recommendations to help improve the creation and growth of university spin-out companies. The review was led by:
- Professor Irene Tracey CBE, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford and member of the Medical Research Council (MRC) of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)
- Doctor Andrew Williamson, Managing Partner of Cambridge Innovation Capital and Chair of the Venture Capital Committee at the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA)
The review reported jointly to the Chancellor of the Exchequer and Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, supported by officials from their departments. The review ran from March to October 2023.
The government has accepted all the recommendations of the review. The government response document provides details on how the government will implement each of them.
