Research exploring options for improving the measurement of induced travel demand.

This study scopes the evidence-based approaches that could be undertaken to deepen our understanding of induced travel and provide better estimates for road capacity changes on the strategic road network.

It also provides guidance around how new insights could be used to improve transport modelling processes and will contribute to the development of our appraisal and modelling strategy.

This research was informed by induced travel demand: an evidence review, completed in October 2018.
