SPC Filing Date | The date the SPC was filed at the IPO |
Product Type Name | The type of product seeking an SPC |
Applicant Name | Name of the applicant that requested the SPC |
Product Description | The active ingredient covered by the SPC |
Product Search Key | The abbreviated product description |
Publication Number | The reference number given to a patent when published for which the SPC was applied |
IPSUM | Hyperlink to the given record on the Intellectual Property Offices’ online patent information and document inspection service |
Title | The title of the patent |
UK Authority | The marketing authorisation/s valid in the UK |
UK Authority Date | The date of the marketing authorisation/s reported in UK Authority |
Earliest Authority Date | Date of earliest marketing authorisation. If the same as UK Authority Date this indicates that the earliest marketing authorisation was within UK. If this is not the same as the UK Authority Date then the earliest marketing authorisation was in another European Free Trade Area market. |
Status | The status of the SPC at time of extraction |
SPC Grant Date | The date the SPC was granted |
Actual Expiry Date | The date the SPC expired |
Maximum Expiry Date | The maximum date at which the SPC could expire |
Extension Expiry Date | The date of expiry should the SPC be extended. A six month extensions is given to products that require pediatric testing. |
Entry Into Force Date | The date the SPC entered into force |
Patent Filing Date | The date the patent application was filed |
Patent Grant Date | The date the patent was granted |
2. Coverage
Bibliographic data of Supplementary Proection Certificates (SPCs) filed between 1993 and April 2016. More information on SPCs can be found on the website.
3. Comparison to other releases
Online registers are dynamic and alter as the patents’ status changes. As this data is a snapshot taken at the date of extraction, it may not be directly comparable with official publications such as the facts and figures, online registers and search tools.
