Following the UK-Japan meeting on 6 February 2023, the governments of Japan and the United Kingdom have expressed their intention to collaborate on knowledge sharing in ensuring users are protected when accessing and using apps and app stores.

This builds on the UK-Japan Digital Partnership and the recently published UK voluntary Code of Practice for App Store Operators and App Developers.

This work is part of the UK government’s National Cyber Strategy to protect and promote the UK online, which is backed with an investment of £2.6 billion.
