Analysis of data from voluntary reports of bacteraemia in the paediatric population (including trend data and antimicrobial susceptibility by age group) for England.

Note (February 2025): The term “bloodstream infections” was used in earlier reports on this page, however, as the reports are based on microbiological laboratory results, from 2025 the term “bacteraemia” is used instead.

Note (November 2024): Corrigendum: An updated version of ‘Laboratory surveillance of paediatric bacterial bloodstream infections and antimicrobial resistance in England: 2018 to 2022’ was published in HPR 18(10), November 2024.”
