Littlehampton Harbour Dues: public inquiry

Details

A public inquiry took place between 12 and 15 October 2021, held by an inspector appointed by the Secretary of State for Transport, with regards to an objection raised by Arun Yacht Club, Littlehampton Yacht Club and Littlehampton Marina under section 31 of the Harbours Act 1964.

The objection concerned certain vessel and passenger dues on the ferry operating wholly within the harbour imposed by Littlehampton Harbour Board in respect of the tax years ending 2019 and 2020.

In accordance with Sections 31(6)(a) and 31(9) of the 1964 Act, the Secretary of State gives notice to Littlehampton Harbour Board of approval of the disputed charges in regards pleasure craft and charter vessels (Issues 1 and 1A) and dues relating to all categories of vessels (Issues 2 and 2A) contained within the 2018 to 2019 and 2019 to 2020 Schedule of Charges.
