Details

As part of the Government’s Lottery Reform measures, Ministers asked officials to carry out a comparative study of the administrative costs of some UK-based charities to inform his decision about the level of the administrative cost caps for the Lottery distributors.

Having considered the research , John Penrose decided to apply a 5% cap is to grant processing costs, but that  total running costs, including such things as technical support and outreach, will be subject to a cap of 8%.  Distributors have been given until either March 2013 or March 2014 to comply with these caps, depending on their circumstances. The key message is that this is about more money being available for Lottery grants.
