Details

Paper from LSHTM on nosocomial and community transmission of COVID-19 in England. It was considered at SAGE 27 on 21 April 2020.

The paper is the assessment of the evidence at the time of writing. As new evidence or data emerges, SAGE updates its advice accordingly.

This paper informed the SPI-M consensus view on nosocomial infections at the time and should be read alongside the SPI-M consensus statement, also released under SAGE 27. The data in this paper has been superseded by later nosocomial analyses from within SPI-M, as well as pre-prints and other published data from NHS England.

This paper contains estimates of the R value. These are estimates from a single modelling group, rather than an agreed consensus estimate from SAGE.

These documents are released as pre-print publications that have provided the government with rapid evidence during an emergency. These documents have not been peer-reviewed and there is no restriction on authors submitting and publishing this evidence in peer-reviewed journals.
