Details

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) completed a review of the Met Office as part of the government’s Public Bodies Review Programme. It was started in August 2022 and concluded in November 2022.

The review considered the effectiveness of the Met Office in meeting its objectives, and makes recommendations. The scope of the review included:

  • efficacy
  • efficiency
  • governance
  • accountability

The Met Office is now under the sponsorship of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT).
