This notice should be read in conjunction with the merchant shipping and fishing vessels (control of vibration at work) regulations 2007, the merchant shipping and fishing vessels (health and safety at work) regulations 1997, MGN 636 (M) amendment 2 which provides details and guidance on interpretation of the merchant shipping and fishing vessels (health and safety at work) regulations 1997 and MGN 587 (F) amendment 1 that explains ILO health and safety responsibilities in respect of fishing vessels. The exemption process as outlined within MGN 447 (M+F) Amendment 2 merchant shipping and fishing vessel (control of noise at work) regulations 1997 procedure for seeking exemptions.
