This guidance note informs interested parties of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency installation and testing requirements for the approval of new fixed aerosol fire extinguishing systems for use in small vessel normally unoccupied machinery spaces and the UK Approved Bodies permitted to approve such testing on behalf of the MCA.

Notice to all Shipowners, Ship Operators, Masters and Officers of Ships, Ship Designers, and Shipbuilders of Fishing Vessels Under 24m, Small Commercial Codes Vessels, Domestic Passenger Vessels of class III to VI(A), Surveyors, and Providers of Aerosol Fire Suppression Systems.
