Details

This document outlines the projects granted under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 during 2016 with a primary purpose of basic research, gastrointestinal system including liver.

The following projects were granted:

  • chromatin dynamics in intestinal epithelium health (intestine, nutrition, chromatin, gene regulation)

  • characterization of novel diagnostic and therapeutic targets in metabolic pathologies (glucose, hormone, obesity, diabetes, fibrosis)

  • control of liver glucose metabolism (type 2 diabetes, glucokinase, anti-diabetic drugs)

  • innate immune pathways in pathological and protective immunity in the gut (immunology, microbiota, gut, IBD, crohn’s disease)
