Details

This research examines how socio-demographic factors, particularly protected characteristics, influence views on local public transport and perceptions of personal safety while travelling by public transport.

The research found that women, young people and those with health conditions felt less safe on public transport, with concerns about discrimination highest among ethnic minorities, LGB+ respondents and those with mental or neurological conditions. Older people generally had a more positive view of safety and public transport.
