The government has completed a comprehensive Performance Review of Digital Spend, reaffirming its commitment to driving efficient, innovative, and impactful digital, data, and technology (DDaT) investments across public services. The Review assessed whether the government’s processes for funding, managing and tracking digital projects enable strategic spending decisions and maximise value for money.
This document sets out the key findings from the Review and the actions the government has committed to taking forward in response. The government has committed to a number of reforms built on three key pillars: (i) testing alternative funding mechanisms; (ii) enhanced training and guidance; and (iii) improved outcomes metrics and evaluation. Plans to implement these reforms are set out in the document.
