This report sets out the findings of the taskforce and the recommendations that the government will be taking forward to tackle the issue of pet theft.

Details

Britain is a nation of pet lovers, and many pets are considered members of the family. In response to concerns about a perceived increase in pet theft during lockdown, the government set up the Pet Theft Taskforce.

The taskforce gathered evidence to understand the factors that may be contributing to a perceived or real rise in pet thefts and to recommend measures to tackle the problem. This report sets out the findings of the taskforce and several recommendations to tackle the issue.
