Details

In 2014, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) put in place an order requiring all healthcare facilities in the UK that treat private patients to collect and publish information on the quality of care provided. This quality information is required to allow patients to make informed choices about where to seek medical treatment.

Several NHS trusts that treat private patients have not started the process of collecting and publishing data. Therefore, the CMA has issued these hospitals with directions, setting out the timeline within which they are required to comply.

More information is in the press release.
