In this update, we set out the progress being made to deliver fast and reliable connectivity to homes and businesses across the UK.

It outlines the latest on our pipeline of procurements including the award of six Project Gigabit contracts in Cambridgeshire, the New Forest, North Shropshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Hampshire. In total, these contracts have a combined value of up to £425 million, to cover up to 284,000 premises. In recent months BDUK also launched nine new procurements.

Additionally, it provides details of the government’s Wireless Infrastructure Strategy, Unleashing Rural Opportunity plan and Smart Infrastructure Pilots programme, and an update about the government’s plans for using low earth orbit satellites to connect very hard to reach premises. Finally, the update provides details on gigabit-capable broadband coverage across the devolved nations and regions, in urban and rural areas, by supplier, and by residential and commercial premises.
