Details
Baroness Vere of Norbiton has written to operators of metro systems in London, Glasgow and Newcastle to express her dissatisfaction at the need to retain rail carriages which do not comply with accessibility standards in RVAR 2010 beyond the compliance deadline of 1 January 2020. Vehicles on these networks have been given time-limited exemptions and must work to upgrade or replace these vehicles as soon as possible.
Consideration of these exemption requests were carried out in consultation with DPTAC, ORR, LondonTravelwatch and Transport Focus.
