PharosAI will transform cancer care by accelerating the development and deployment of AI models for cancer diagnosis and drug discovery, leading to faster and better-informed healthcare for UK cancer patients. Experts from two leading universities and two NHS trusts will bring together decades of NHS and Biobank data onto a unified, powerful, secure, AI-ready platform to develop advanced tools for disease detection, precise diagnostics, and optimised treatments. Bind Research

Overview

Bind Research is committed to unlocking the full therapeutic potential of targeting disordered proteins, offering hope to cure diseases that were once thought to be untreatable. Combining large scale lab experiments and AI, Bind will learn the rules of drugging these currently undruggable proteins. As the UK’s first Focused Research Organisation, Bind will adopt an agile start-up model, with an interdisciplinary team to create tools and datasets that significantly accelerate discovery in diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer’s. Overview

MEMetic is at the forefront of a revolutionary approach to water management, aiming to deliver clean, safe and affordable water for everyone. MEMetic combines nature’s highly evolved solutions with state-of-the-art polymer chemistry to develop world first biomimetic membranes capable of addressing today’s most pressing water challenges. Led by researchers at the Aston Institute for Membrane Excellence at Aston University, MEMetic aims to improve the lives of the 2 billion people lacking access to safe drinking water and the 3.5 billion without safely managed sanitation services.
