Details
This prison service instruction (PSI) details the facilities, services and support that prisons should provide to prisoners as part of their daily routine, including:
- cell furnishings, fittings and equipment
- clothing, bedding and footwear
- toiletries, bathrooms and laundry
- time outside
- meal times
- social care, including building positive staff-prisoner relationships and good behaviour
- care for prisoners at risk of suicide and self-harm
- access to computer facilities for legal reasons
It also details specific support for prisoners with disabilities, elderly prisoners, ethic minority prisoners and other specific groups.
