This report responds to the request from the Home Secretary to the MAC to undertake a study into the Intra-company Transfer (ICT) route, focussing on the operation and effectiveness of the route.
In addition, the MAC was asked to look into the UK’s mobility offer for businesses wishing to set up a subsidiary in the UK or to undertake a secondment in relation to a high-value contract for goods or services.
The MAC has also considered the needs of businesses to have a more agile, time-restricted route.
Read Professor Brian Bell’s letter to the Home Secretary introducing the committee’s report.
The MAC commissioned Revealing Reality to conduct qualitative research, interviewing employers and employees, to explore why and how the Intra-company Transfer route was being used. Read Employer and employee use of ICT visas: a qualitative study.
