On 4 May 2018, the Lead Commissioner wrote to the Secretary of State with the 39 month progress report of the commissioners and confirmed her recommendation that the government intervention in Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council can now be concluded. This recommendation was supported by the report of the Independent Health Check and Ofsted’s report on children’s services, as well as evidence from earlier quarterly progress reports.
The letter from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government outlines a revised intervention package proposed by the Secretary of State, and invites representations from the council.
See documents relating to the original intervention.
Information about the work of the commissioners can be found on the commissioners’ web pages on the Rotherham council website.
