Details
This probation instruction (PI) provides the National Probation Service and community rehabilitation companies (CRCs) with guidance on setting rehabilitation activity requirements (RARs). These are requirements that can be included with a community order or suspended sentence order to give offenders purposeful activities to support their rehabilitation.
It also explains the legal principles and requirements of RARs and how the RAR fits in with sentencing options available to courts.
This is a current PI. It came into effect on 23 October 2014 and was last updated on 29 September 2017.
