The licence condition modifications to implement Government policy in the above areas were laid in Parliament on 10 May 2013. Following successful completion of the Parliamentary process, the licence conditions will come into force on 14 July 2013.

Policy positions and licence conditions for each of these areas have previously been consulted on and responses published as follows:

• Smart Metering Implementation Programme, Stage 1 of the Smart Energy Code, A Government response and supplementary consultation on updated draft legal text, 29 April 2013 (Consultation published on 08 November 2012; Government response published on 29 April 2013).

• Smart metering implementation programme: second version of SMETS (Consultation published 13 August 2012; Government response published 24 January 2013).
