Guidance setting out the street works permit scheme conditions that all highway authorities, imposing conditions on permits, must follow. This guidance is used with the street works permit schemes regulations guidance.

The guidance came into force on 3 April 2023. It makes the alterations stated in the outcome of a consultation on reforms to street works permit schemes.

It introduces a condition for:

  • ancillary information on adjacent streets
  • changes to traffic management arrangements
