Taking Part: a strategy for the next five years

We are pleased to share our proposed developments to the Taking Part survey, which will ensure it is fit for the future and supports the evidence needs of DCMS sectors. This strategy demonstrates how we will continue to provide high quality monitoring data, while also improving evidence of impact and outcomes associated with activities in DCMS sectors.

Details

Taking Part is the key evidence source for DCMS and was commissioned primarily to provide a single evidence source on participation in culture and sport. The survey is currently used to measure and inform departmental indicators, inform the development and impact of DCMS policy, and to understand the drivers and barriers of participation in cultural and sporting activities. Taking Part is a continuous survey in England.
