Details

The licence contains important conditions for providers of NHS services.

These conditions help Monitor to ensure the health sector works for the benefit of patients by:

  • setting prices for NHS-funded care in partnership with NHS England
  • enabling integrated care
  • preventing anti-competitive behaviour that is against the interests of patients
  • supporting NHS commissioners in maintaining service continuity
  • overseeing the way NHS foundation trusts are governed
