Between September and November 2017, the Regulator of Social Housing asked for sector views on a set of financial metrics for registered providers to report on.
To meet the regulator’s statutory objective to be proportionate and minimise interference, the proposed metrics were based on information collected through the providers’ existing Annual Accounts regulatory return with providers also welcome to report on any additional VFM performance targets identified by the organisation itself. The metrics were also drawn from the pilot undertaken by the Sector Scorecard Working Group.
The VFM metrics do not form part of the VFM Standard but provide a separate tool for registered providers to demonstrate that they are making best use of their assets and resources to stakeholders, including tenants and the regulator.
The latest guidance on the VFM metrics can be found on the Value for Money metrics - Technical note guidance page.
All the VFM reports and guidance can be found on the Value for money collections page.
