Details

The UK Advisory Panel for Healthcare Workers Infected with Bloodborne Viruses (UKAP) specialist working group has compiled a list of exposure prone procedures (EPPs) and non-EPPs carried out in vascular surgery.

Each procedure has been categorised into the level of risk of bleed-back (EPP level 0 to 3), where injury to the healthcare worker could result in the worker’s blood contaminating the patient’s open tissues.

This list is not exhaustive of all procedures carried out in vascular surgery, and is to be used as a guide only.
