The Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Dr Kao Kim Hourn, visited the UK on 1 to 3 November 2023. During his visit, he:

• met Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden, reaffirming ASEAN and the UK’s growing partnership since the UK became an ASEAN Dialogue Partner in 2021
• discussed progress on the ambitious ASEAN-UK Plan of Action (2022 to 2026) with 4 UK ministers
• celebrated ASEAN-UK cooperation on global health, science and technology at a reception hosted by Minister Will Quince, with Minister George Freeman also giving remarks
