Details

This report covers a literature review of research into young people’s travel and their attitudes to public transport and more thematic research into the elasticity of demand for bus services. This was supplemented by analysis of the National Travel Survey (NTS) which indicated that young people do indeed have travel habits which are significantly different to the population in general.

The second stage of the project involved more detailed data collection from local authorities and operators and the completion of interviews with young people through focus groups.
