This report looks at housing costs and affordability in England in 2015-16.

It first examines average housing costs, drawing out key differences between the tenures, as well as differences between London and outside London. It then explores household income and makes an assessment of housing affordability and how this varies by tenure. Finally it discusses the difficulties households had in meeting their housing costs, and how this varied by tenure.
