Details

This publication presents data on the farm labour force in England and the UK collected as part of the EU Farm Structure Survey while the UK was still a member of the European Union.

Data on age and sex of principal farmer/managers in England is now collected as part of the June Survey of Agriculture and Horticulture. For the latest agricultural workforce size, age and sex group statistics for England please go to Agricultural Workforce in England.

For estimates of the size of the agricultural workforce in the United Kingdom please go to Agricultural workforce in the United Kingdom. You should contact the relevant agricultural department in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland to check on the availability of agricultural workforce age and sex group statistics.
