Applies to England
Documents
Details
Quarterly experimental statistics on health visitor service delivery. Information is presented at a local, regional and national level. Data from previous years was published by OHID (formerly PHE).
The metrics cover health reviews for pregnant women, children and their families at several stages which are:
- antenatal contact
- new birth visit
- 6 to 8 week review
- 12 month review
- 2 to 2 and a half year review
The data was collected through an interim reporting system set up to collect health visiting activity data at a local authority resident level. Data was submitted by local authorities on a voluntary basis.
Local authority commissioners and health professionals can use these resources to track how many pregnant women, children and families in their local area have received health promoting reviews at particular points during pregnancy and childhood.
Correction note
Since publication in July, we have identified an error in the data for health visiting service delivery metrics. This error has affected data for local authorities in the headline statistics tab in the file published on 4 July. Values for regions and England are correct.
We have corrected this error and issued a revised data file as the August 2023 release. This supersedes the July 2023 release.
