This release presents statistics on the diversity of the Home Office workforce. These statistics are in development, and formerly described as ‘experimental statistics’, in line with Guidance on producing official statistics in development published by the Office for Statistics Regulation. The statistics in this release are based on data from the Home Office’s HR system for the period 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023. This publication forms part of the Home Office’s response to Recommendation 28 of the Windrush Lessons Learned Review. The data we are publishing goes beyond the recommendation and covers broader identity categories, where possible examining representation by grade, and by different areas within the Home Office.
