This statistical release contains the latest data and commentary on new outcomes obtained as a result of enforcement activities of the Insolvency Service during 2017/18. They include: disqualifications of company directors; companies wound up in the public interest; bankruptcy restrictions.
• The total number of directors disqualified for misconduct remained around the same as in 2016/17.
• The average obtained period of disqualification remained around the same as in 2016/17.
• The number of bankruptcy and debt relief restrictions fell from 2016/17.
• The average period of bankruptcy restrictions remained in line with long term trends.

An error in the 2016/17 statistics has been rectified in these updates. From the May 2017 to the February 2018 first published editions of these statistics, twenty bankruptcy restrictions were mistakenly omitted. The statistics have reverted to the figures presented in the updated edition
