Highlights

  • Total landings by UK vessels decreased drastically in April 2022 compared to 2021, down 46 per cent at 32 thousand tonnes. The value of landings in April 2022 (£52.6 million) was also down compared to 2021 by 11 per cent.

  • Landings in April 2022 comprised mostly of pelagic species. This was driven by high landings of Blue Whiting which is usually a highly targeted fishery during February – April each year, where the fish are at their largest and most desirable.
