Details
The National Travel Survey results in 2018 showed:
- people in England made 986 trips on average in 2018, about 19 trips per week
- this was a 1% increase on the level in 2017
- there was a 3% increase in the average number of walks per person
- the 6,530 miles people travelled on average in 2018 was about the same as in 2017
- on average, people spent just over an hour a day travelling, including 36 minutes by car on average, and 12 minutes walking
