Details
The National Travel Survey results in 2020 showed:
- people in England made 739 trips on average, about 14 trips per week
- there was a 22% decrease on the level in 2019
- there was a 5% decrease in the average number of walks to 236 trips per person
- walks of over a mile increased by 34% to 87 trips per person
- cycling trips per person increased by 26% to 20 trips per person
- the 4,334 miles people travelled on average was a 33% decrease compared to 2019
On average, people spent:
- 269 hours travelling, around 44 minutes a day
- 30 minutes per cycling trip
- 20 minutes per car driver trip
- 19 minutes per walking trip
