In 2014, when asked about attitudes to and knowledge of electric vehicles:
- 5% said that they were thinking about buying an electric car or van
- 56% said that they had not thought about buying one
- 14% said that they had thought about buying one and decided not to
When asked about the most important things they considered when buying a car (more than one answer allowed):
- 85% said cost
- 78% said reliability
- 66% said safety
- 53% said comfort
